The much awaited Bradpitt movie,Moneyball is set for release on September 23, 2011.It is a biographical comedy-drama film directed by Bennett Miller.It is based on the true story of Billy Beane, general manager of the Oakland Athletics, and his attempt to create a competitive team despite Oakland's unfavorable financial situation.Through analysis and a new, non-traditional sabermetric approach to scouting players, Beane attempts to create a competitive baseball team at a fraction of the cost of the large market teams. Bill James coined the term - Sabermetrics - that measures in-game activity rather than industry activity such as attendance.The film is based on the 2003 book of the same name written by Michael M. Lewis.
