Apollo
18 is going to take us around 35 years back, to December 1974, about the history of post-Apollo 17 mission by NASA. This horror movie comes with an "imaginative story" on why NASA discontinued the Apollo moon mission after Apollo 17. Apollo 17 was the eleventh and final manned mission in the American Apollo space program. According to this film there was an unofficial 18th mission and it got cancelled as the crew on the Moon was attached by parasitic lifeforms. Rest of the story remains unknown but movie posters in English indicate the involvement of Russian KGB in Soviet lunar conspiracy. Russian movie posters show inscriptions in English suggesting an American government cover up in lunar conspiracy. In the trailer also,we can see an American astronaut finds a dead cosmonaut and a Soviet LK Lander on the lunar surface. So the movie surely has an element of suspense regarding the cold war relationship between the two giants. The movie is directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego - his debut English film.
